We just got back from our fall break vacation. We went to Vegas for some much needed R&R. We got a great deal on Tahiti Village, so we went back for some fun in the pool and the lazy river! The place is great! Just a warning paper thin walls! I have to just post some of the strange and odd things we saw. I have to admit it's hard not to people watch when you are in Vegas. I have to say people are so entertaining! We only ventured down the strip once, and well I guess that was just enough!
I am really wondering if the strip is the booze capital of the world! Holy cow. Everyone had something in their hands walking down the street. One guy even was carrying a 24 pack of beer down the street! Give me a break! I have to say how surprised I am with the amount of alcohol consummation. I know little Ms Mormon Girl, but it was just shocking to see all the dumb people. One guy was sooo drunk he got in a fight with a cab! The stupidity.
We went to the Bellagio and went through their flower gardens. We have never been in the Bellagio, so we thought we would check it out. 10 years or so ago, we couldn't get in. They wouldn't let kids in that weren't staying at the hotel. I guess they changed their policy. It was very pretty. While looking at the beautiful flowers, it was hard not to people watch. I saw a large black man dressed up in a red with black pin stripped suit and a red Fedora hat. I am sorry, but it just made me laugh. Total gangster. We have been trying to find stuff for John to wear as a gangster costume, for Halloween, and this was totally it! Wish we could borrow your suit sir! (But alas it would have drowned John) I saw a few older ladies dressed as if they were in there 20's. It was just interesting to see what people wear. There was also a couple in the flower area that had just gotten married. They were taking pictures.
The overall theme of Vegas, I guess, is lets go there and have our wedding. We then we will have pictures in front of our hotel room and the Welcome to Vegas sign! We saw so many people getting married in front of the Welcome to Vegas sign! At least 10 weddings. I don't think I want to show my kids the wedding pictures from the Welcome to Vegas sign for the rest of my life. Call me crazy! It was just fascinating what people do.
John also saw Penn from Penn and Teller and gave him knuckles. Please. He was thrilled to have seen him! I have to say that was the first celebrity I have seen in person.
The last lovely thing we heard was the domestic squabble next door. IE.. warning on paper thin walls. So much shouting, crying and slamming of doors. Boy we got the raw end of the neighbor deal. The kids were scared, the front desk was called several times and we ended up with a security guard in our room trying to hear them fighting. By the time he got up their the hubby/boyfriend was already gone. We wanted to make sure she was ok and have them stop the noise! They were awful to live next door too!
Oh such an eventful trip, and not to mention 3 of the 5 of us got sick! Just a warning I think it was from the H1N1 Flu mist shot we got. Just saying! I will post pictures and what we did in a bit, hopefully when everyone goes back to school.(Hubby is sick and didn't stay home from work! Bad boy!)

I have a love/hate relationship with Vegas. It is the scum of the earth on one hand, and on the other, very entertaining with some cool things to see. I'm definitely a people watcher too. There are some "weirdies" in Vegas, that's for sure!
That is how I feel too. Love hate relationship.
Cheryl, I could hear you saying each and every word of this. It was like I was standing right next to you. And just so you know, I laughed out loud.
