14th Anniversary

John and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on Feb 17th. I can't believe its been 14 years! 3 kids later and we are still going strong. It really doesn't seem like its been that long. I really love John and I couldn't imagine being married to anyone else! I love you honey!
We decided we were going to go to Vegas for the weekend. We couldn't get a babysitter, so everyone ended up going with us. We stayed at the Tahiti Village. We really like this place! It has a separate bedroom for John and I and a pull out couch in the living room for the kids. It has a full kitchen and a bathroom bigger then the girls rooms! It has an amazing lazy river and a separate pool with a beach going down into the pool. Because of a snow storm that was suppose to be coming, we left a day earlier then we were going to. We stayed the night in Cedar City. We got up the next day and drove the rest of the way to Vegas. We got there way earlier, so we couldn't check in, so we went shopping. Ellie had been bugging me to get her ears pierced, so we went over to the outlet mall next to the hotel and got them done. She was very nervous, but she went thru with it! She is almost 6, so this was her decision to make. She picked out the same studs as her sister. It just happened to be Valentines day!

Jalyse had gotten a gift certificate to build a bear for her birthday, so we went to another mall so she could use it. We finally checked into the hotel and we really liked it! It was valentines day, so we were trying to decide where to eat. John and I decided we would get take out from Outback and the kids wanted McDonald's, so they got that. John brought it back to the hotel and we ate. It was nice to do something a little different, and we got to save money :)

Sunday - We were able to get up and make breakfast at our hotel. I wanted to do something special to celebrate our anniversary/valentines day, so I brought a mold to make heart shape cakes. It was a surprise for the kids. I bought plates and a tablecloth and the dollar store to bring in the valentines theme. I also brought some crafts for the girls to do, they love there crafts! We all made cakes and had a nice dinner at the hotel. That night we decided to go to the Fremont Experience to see the lights. We had never been there before, so we thought we would go. It was in a very bad part of town! We saw rows and rows of homeless people in tents down the two sides of the road. Its a different part of Vegas, that's for sure. It was fun seeing the light show, wish it was just a little longer!

Monday - Everyone, but me, wanted to go jump in the lazy river! It was only in the 50's and I was already freezing! The kids and John got in there swim suits and went down to the lazy river. It was really nice, very impressed, but still not getting in! The life guards were all freezing and thinking my family was nut so! I agree! They went around twice and that was enough, it was time to go to the whirlpool. I wish it was warmer, I would have gotten in!

We decided to go to our first ever Vegas show. We have never seen anything before. We were able to go to the Popovich show. He is a Russian man, that does an animal/juggling act with his daughter. I saw them on America's Got Talent. I knew it was a family show and I knew the kids would love it, and they did! They really liked it and were glued to there sets. We wanted to get them the best seats we could, so we stood in line for an hour and half! It was a long wait but we had a good time.

Overall we had a really great time and it was nice to get away. We would love to go back to the hotel when it is warmer!
