This is my first blog entry, yes this one is authored by Dad for good reason. I just finished up my first daddy/daughter hike! We hiked a pleasant path not far from our home through a wooded area to a pretty water fall. The hike was not difficult. It was a great time w/ Jalyse. I had the privilege to spend a beautiful morning and pleasant hike with her, the activity day leaders, along w/ some other dad’s and daughters.
We started our hike w/ of course some pictures, a special bag with treats and goodies and most importantly a word of prayer. In our bag we had some snacks, a device that counted our steps, and a list of items we needed to find.
During our hike Jalyse and I were able to talk and just spend some quality time together. Jalyse is a doll and I love her very much! So, going on the hike with her was a joy.
Of course during the hike we did find all the items on our list except the mountain climbers and rock formation that was supposed to resemble Abraham Lincoln; oh well maybe next time.
Also, along the way during our hike we saw beautiful trees, flowers, butterflies, and of course the nice waterfall which was at the end of our hike. We of course braved a few rocks and trails during our hike, but hey that is adventure! There is beauty all around us we just need to take some time to see it more often than not.
