Hello Colorado!
That sign behind the kids says Welcome to Colorado. Yes the tourists stopped on the side of the road for a picture. The kids have never been to Colorado.
Hello Cortez, Colorado! Days Inn here we come.. .. and no never stay there!
We got there in the late afternoon. The kids wanted to go to the pool, and we said we would after we ran an errand to walmart and got some dinner. The kids kept looking down at the pool, they really wanted to go in! Low and behold they saw Mr. speedo man! Yes a later then middle age man was in a speedo! My kids called him the gross speedo man! They laughed and laughed. Thanks Mr. Speedo man for the entertainment. (P.S. Please don't wear those! Your wife should have told you that is disturbing!)
The man next door to us, we will call him boxer guy, was very amusing too. He kept coming out of his hotel room in his boxer shorts, with his big fat belly hanging over them. My kids got a good laugh from seeing you. (P.S. Next time please stay in your room, no one wants to see an over weight man in his boxer shorts!)
The kids had told us, what is going to be funny for us to see today? They were already entertained by seeing speedo man and boxer shorts man, they thought for sure something else funny was going to happen. They didn't have to wait very long.
We went over to the other side of the park, to go to Long House and they got their laugh for the day. I had just come out of the restrooms, and an elderly man was walking up to them. He went right into the girls restroom! Lucky for him I think I was the last one in there. He came out of the bathroom a minute later. We were all laughing. He had a good sense of humor and said "he new he was in trouble when there was no lock on the door" Some of the bathrooms there are for everyone, but these ones are clearly marked boys, girls. Thanks Mr. Elderly Man walking in the girls bathroom, you gave us a good laugh!
We spent two days at Mesa Verde and saw all kinds of fun and interesting things. As we were driving out of the park on Friday night was saw a bunch of cars pulled over to the side. I looked out the window and there were 4 horses and a baby! Wild horses! I have never seen any wild ones, so we had to stop and take pictures! Thanks for making our day horses! It was so neat to see them!
We kept our eye out for other creatures and we saw a bunch of lizards. I saw 4, I think the rest of the clan saw 6. Boy do they move fast! Thanks lizards it was fun seeing you!
I don't have a picture with Ellie's encounter with a green snake, we got out of there really fast. Sorry snake we really didn't want to see you!
Saturday night we decided to drive up to Durango to see what they had up there and to find a different place to eat dinner. This town is just like Park City, just in Colorado.
On the way up I saw a few dear out the window and on the way down we found a whole herd of Elk. There were so many of them John pulled over and started taking pictures of them and got them on the camcorder. Some of there antlers were huge! It was fun to see so many of them up close. As we were pulling away Jaden read a sign that said "Private Elk Farm No Hunting" well that explained why we saw so many of them, but hey it was still fun to see them. I had no idea they had Elk farms!
Last but not least, thanks Days Inn for Locking us out of our room and for the wonderful cold shower I got to take Sunday Morning. :)
We had a a wonderful time in Mesa Verde. More adventures in the park to come.....
