I am a cub scout leader. I am currently in charge of the wolves and the bears. (Soon just the bears) For one of our pack nights, we decided to have a camp out with the cub scouts. Usually cub scouts don't have camp outs, but if a parent attends they can camp out. We had it so all family members could come. John and the girls came with me and we all slept out in the tent. Jaden was gone to his scout camp. I was the only cub scout den leader staying over night. Go me!
We went to Anderson Park. It really is a wilderness park, and a lot of scouts use the park. We started out by having one of the boys dads come and show them how to use a pocket knife. The boys were able to earn their whittle and chip card. Since I have no clue how to use a pocketknife, this was a great help! He had a collection of knives that he showed the boys and each of them got to try and practice using their knife on a piece of soap.

We had another activity of finding different leaves that matched what Bro. Johnson had on a board. They were to work with their families to find the right leaves.
We then went ahead and did the awards for the boys. I had two that night that got their wolves. Way to go boys!
We had the boys do some skits, and I handed the camera to John. Well lets just say he didn't get a picture! They were cute skits and I hope the boys had a great time. We went around a camp fire and roasted marshmallows and sang songs. Everyone was having a great time. Some of the fathers even took the kids on a snipe hunt.
It was suppose to rain that night and we just got a sprinkle on us when we were doing the awards. I was so happy it didn't rain all night! I just froze! I even came prepared, but I froze. Everyone else in the tent was great. We got up and had a great breakfast and we all went home. The boys keep talking about it and they had a great time. I am glad that it was a success. It was a fun thing to do with the cubs.
