Traditions at the Gingerbread House

This was the theme this year of our ward party. We had a great dinner, a few people talked about their family traditions, the primary sang, and of course Santa came! It got me thinking about what traditions we do as a family.
Our Family Christmas Traditions:
1 - We always get new PJ's that we open on Christmas eve. This is a tradition from my mom and I have carried it on.
2- We always go see the lights at Temple Square and hit the Pie Pizzeria for dinner.
3- We see the lights at Thanksgiving Point and in Spanish Fork
4- We let the kids buy gifts for one another.
5- We spend Christmas eve at my moms house, Dinner and gifts
6- On Christmas Eve, my mom, reads Christmas stories to the kids, before they can open their gifts.
7- John Makes Christmas Day dinner for everyone
8- We always have pancakes and bacon Christmas morning
9 - New one I started this year. I am trying to get them to be more helpful around here, and do some service at home. I purchased a box that looks really old, like the wise men could have had it. When they do a good deed, they are suppose to write what it was on a piece of paper, and put it in the box. On Christmas morning that will be the first thing we open. I will read each one of them and tell them that their service is their gift to Jesus. (For Younger kids you could just use a piece of straw to represent their service)
10- When I was little we always went on vacation, now with my own family, I just wish I could carry this one on!
11- I have an advent calendar I made. The kids take turns turning over the light bulbs.
12- We decorate the tree and the house together. We try and play Christmas music while doing it!
13- We take the kids to the mall to see Santa and have pictures taken with him.
14- Melissa reminded me of another tradition we usually do, really the most important one, and yes I forgot. We usually try and donate money or go shopping for another family. Christmas is about giving and helping one another. Wishing my kids could get that gift this Christmas!

I am wondering what you do for your Traditions? Maybe I could incorporate some of them with my family.

What Christmas Traditions do you do with your family?

I love that new one you started. What a cute idea! We do the new PJ thing too. My grandma started it with us, and my mom is carrying it on. LOVE IT. We always have dinner, games and gifts on Christmas Eve at my moms, and then Christmas breakfast there too. We go around to everyone's houses (family) to see them on Christmas day.

So many of these traditions we do too! We always do the 12 days of Christmas annonymously for a family we know. And I have several nativities, so we take the baby Jesus'es and wrap them under the tree. Chrismtas morning, we open the baby Jesus'es first and put them with their respective nativity.

No matter where I’ve lived, a box of gingerbread men has always shown up at my door, sent by family.

This was the first year that didn’t happen. So we made the gingerbread ourselves this year. The tradition lives!
