Balboa Park

We went to Balboa Park. This park is the home of the zoo and 15 museums. There is a lot to see. We parked and walked up and saw this old tree. It was a beauty. We couldn't resists having the kids pictures take with its big roots. Right behind them is a botanical garden, but of course, the day we came, it was closed.

We walked into a courtyard and it had an amazing pond. There were these cute koi fish and we saw a very fast, cute turtle. We stayed for awhile to watch them all move around.

We then went to the only free museum, the Timken Museum of Art. They have European, American and a lot of Russian artists. They had paintings in there from the 13th century.

I love this building, so I had to take a picture of it. I thought, at first, that it was a Greek Orthodox Church, but it was the Museum of Man. We were then off to see the Model Train Railroad Museum.
