Leatherneck Aviation Museum

On the way out to the aquarium we saw this museum: The Leatherneck Aviation Museum, so we thought we would go back and check it out. We picked a great weekend to go. They had some of the aircraft open so you could go in them and sit down in some of the fighter jets. It was really neat to see them up close and personal. I have no idea how they figured out how to fly some of them. The later models, of the jets, have so many buttons in them! The newer jets are much easier to fly! These were all aircraft that were used by the Marines.

This is a helicopter we got to go in. It was hot in there, I don't know how they fly in them.

Does anyone need an air traffic controller?

We got to go in several fighter jets and sit and look around. There were a few guys around to help you and to explain to you what you were in.

Just a natural! Ha ha!

Jaden, my fighter pilot in training!

Jalyse. She was a little wary about getting in a big jet.

Little Ellie. That jet was so big against my little girl. She had to have help getting in and out.

John just had a blast going into all of the different planes. I think he found it very interesting

It was amazing to see how big the propellers really are. They are huge!

This was just a cute wooden plane. I am really not sure what they used this for, maybe training of some sort. There is a big yellow plane, picture below that was the training plane. We all got to get in that one too.

Ellie have a great time.

John had to have his picture taken with this big gun

This was an interesting place to visit. It was neat to actually go into some of the jets and look at them up close.
