Labor day at Tracy Aviary

We used Jalyse prize and went to the Tracy Aviary. We decided we would go up for Labor day. We went to lunch, we ate at the Pie! Yummy! and then we went to the aviary.
We went and saw the bird show. The trainer brought out a Toucan first and was trying to get the bird use to the audience. They just received this bird and were trying to integrate it into their show.

Very beautiful bird. Interesting to see them train it.

They had this crow come and and fly for nuts and hope over peoples hands. It was a fun bird to watch.

This Ostrich came out and a girl got to hold its food bowl. It ate the whole thing!

This turkey vulture flew over the crowd a few times. Its wing span is pretty impressive. It was a neat show and it was really interesting to learn more about the birds. At the beginning of the show, they tell you, over the speakers, that you could have an Eagle come to your Eagle court of honor. Hmm I wonder how much that would cost?? I think that would be kind of cool to have it come to Jaden's. Putting that in the back of my mind for next year!

This is Jalyse with the peacock. They have several that just wonder around. It didn't really want anything to do with anyone, so this was as close as we could get. They kept running away.

Flamingos, I took this picture for Jalyse. This is one of her favorite birds. One of the stinky ones too!

Jalyse and her flamingos

We purchased some bird food. The kids went around the aviary feeding different birds. Behind them in this pictures are some black necked swans. They were trying to feed them, but I think they had had their fill. They weren't eating any of it.

Ellie is feeding some ducks

Jaden and John are feeding some ducks too.
We went into this enclosed area where you can see several birds.
This parakeet was so cute we had to get a picture of him.
This bird was playing peek a boo. It kept coming in and out of a small hole.

Jalyse just loved these little guys and we had to have a picture of them. They are Guira Cuckoo. She loved how they had stick up hair!

This was a barn owl that a trainer was walking around with. It had been born and raised at the aviary.
This bird had something in its clutches. He was flying around with it. I think this was the Laughing Kookaburra
I loved the color on this one. I think this one was the Green Magpie. What a neat color!
These are my two cute girls!

Pelicans are always interesting to see

These were a couple of Red Tale Hawks. We didn't get to see any Bald Eagles this time. But these two were interesting to watch.

We had an nice time at the aviary. Thanks for reading so hard Jalyse so we could go!
